Feed in Tariff
The Feed in Tariff (FIT) is part of the Government funded Clean Energy Cash Back Scheme. The applicable tariff is based upon the size of the system and the number of kWh of electricity produced, regardless of how much is used by the generator or exported. The tariff is guaranteed for 20 years, and it's also Retail Price index-linked.

As of 1st April 2012 an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) with a minimum of a D banding will be required for solar PV installations, to obtain the higher FIT rates.

Export Tariff
As well as the FIT payment, your energy provider will pay the generator an export tariff based upon the assumption that 50% of the electricity is fed back into the national grid. If the system is greater than 30kW in size an export meter (half hourly metering) is required if you want to claim export payments.
How do I apply for the FIT and Export Tariff?
Once we have installed and commissioned your system we will generate a MCS certificate which you will then need to send to your energy provider in order to claim the payments.

Low VAT
Solar Power and Wind Power are deemed energy saving devices by HMRC and therefore qualifies for a reduced VAT rate of 5% for domestic installations.
